Recital Programs - Ideas For What To Include.

Posted by Jacinda Miller on

Recital programs are a staple at almost any end of the year show or recital.  And, recital programs can be a great tool for sharing your story, celebrating  accomplishments  and even marketing your program.

Here are a few ideas to include in your recital program:

Title Page - if your recital has a theme be sure to include that here, your logo, date of the show(s), time of the show(s)

Welcome Page - as the director, coach or teacher, be sure to include a welcome from you to the families. You can share what you enjoyed about the year, thank families for their time and commitment to your program and any other information that you would like to share.

Show "Rules" - Be sure to share a few reminders like silence your phones, if you allow videoing to be aware of those around you that might also like to video and what other reminders you need to share about being kind to those around you.

Senior Tributes - Celebrate the seniors in your program with pictures and information about how long they have been with you, academic and artistic accomplishments as well as their future plans.

Class Lists - Include each of your classes and the list of the children in those classes.

Show Order - The list of the order of appearances.

Good Luck wishes - Allow students, teachers or parents to write a good luck wish to their favorite performer.  Many people charge a small fee for good luck wishes.  Sell half-page and full page ads to help cover your show expenses.

Advertisements - With some planning, you can have students sell ads for your recital program. You can have students earn a portion of the ads that they sell so it's a great fundraiser for you and the student and great advertising for local small businesses.

Summer and Fall Class Promotion - Include an advertisement for your own programs and share information about Summer and Fall registration.

Accomplishments - If your students compete or are involved in the community, share all of these things with your families. It's fun to see what was accomplished in the year!

Pictures - Pictures from your classes are great to share within your recital program.  Be sure that you have a picture that includes every child that is enrolled in your program so families can see their special performer.

Recital Hashtag - Create a hashtag for families to use when posting to social media. This is great for you to see what was posted but also great advertising!

Awards - If you give out annual awards like MVP or Most Improved share that in your program.

These are just a few ideas about what to include in your recital program.  We use Canva to create our recital programs and love the finished product. We print black and white recital programs, sell color recital program and have the recital program available digitally.
